Bonne Bouche is a vibrant confectionery café in central Mohyliv-Podilskyi. The venue offers guests a wide menu of author's dishes with an accent on premium desserts.
The confectionery café is located on the ground floor of a typical post-Soviet residential building and has two halls and two summer terraces on the adjacent territory.
The first hall, where guests enter from the entrance, is filled with natural light from the street. Panoramic windows unite the interior and exterior space. The rounded communal table and bar counter are made of Italian terrazzo. Chairs from the Ukrainian brand Woo, with yellow upholstery, seem to radiate warmth.
–– Our project's specialty is how it fits into the urban space. We widened the windows and opened the facade as much as possible. We have expanded the space by adding summer areas. A well-thought-out landscape design turned a piece of lawn in front of the house into a cozy forest glade. A podium with tables on the facade allows you to feel the pulse of the city. This is a place for those who want to enjoy a coffee during the first rays of the morning or the setting sun in the evening. Such solutions change the urban landscape and set the new trend for other establishments. It provokes positive changes in the surrounding area. – says Dmytro Bonesko, an art director of YOD Group.
– Bonne Bouche was created with the dream of allowing the residents of a small town to immerse themselves in a gastronomic place with unique dishes and desserts. The main idea behind Bonne Bouche is to share personal experiences and emotions that food can evoke. – said Viktoria Vatsak, the founder of the confectionery café and the founder and chief technologist of Vatsak Confectionery House.
THE SECOND HALL
The second hall, located in the depths of the space, has no access to direct sunlight. The main source of illumination there is a wall panel that works like a large city light. The biodynamic lighting is designed so that during the day the panel brightness level changes in the same way as in nature: from the rich morning ambient light to the cozy and muted evening light. Abstract graphics in terrazzo colors set a light and energetic mood. There are sofas along the walls, and also armchairs and chairs by the Ukrainian brand Noom. Their rounded shapes support the radius elements of the walls and niches, making the architecture of the space more fluent.
THE OUTDOOR AREA
The outdoor area adjacent to the confectionery café consists of two parts: a summer terrace protected from the sun by a pergola and a stepped podium next to the main entrance. The pergola rests on a green area decorated with old pine trees. Guests can relax on a round donut-shaped pouf on the lawn. This place has become the favorite Instagrammable zone for visitors. The second outdoor area is a wide staircase with integrated tables and soft yellow seat cushions. The gray color of the tiles of the steps resembles sun-burned boards, thanks to this shade the podium delicately mimics the facade of the building.
